Questions about economics tuition

  • Which exam boards do you teach?

Teaching is mapped to your own specification. Confirm the board and paper structure at the consultation so the plan matches what you will actually sit.

  • Can you help with the essay papers specifically?

Yes. Extended essay answers are the main focus for most students, because that is where evaluation marks are won or lost.

  • Do you teach maths-heavy economics?

Quantitative skills at A level and IB level are covered. Formal econometrics is not offered at present.

  • How many lessons will I need?

That is decided after the diagnostic, not before. Most students work in blocks of six to ten lessons and review.

  • Can my parent or guardian join?

Yes for the consultation and progress reviews. Lessons themselves work best one-to-one.

  • Is a specialist economics tutor available immediately?

Teaching is delivered by the Shaw Academics team. If your requirement falls outside that competence, we will say so rather than accept the work.

  • Mathematics tuition

Careful, method-first mathematics teaching that repairs foundations and then builds speed and accuracy.

  • Philosophy and reasoning tuition

Argument analysis, precise writing and structured reasoning for philosophy papers and admissions-style thinking tasks.

  • UK application coaching

Course and university selection, UCAS answers and interview readiness, with you as the author throughout.
