Questions about personal statements and essays

  • Is a UCAS statement the same as a US essay?

No. UCAS uses three personal-statement questions for 2026 entry onwards; US applications typically use different essay prompts; postgraduate statements are different again. We work to the format you actually face.

  • Will you edit my draft directly?

We comment and question. You make every change, so the writing stays yours.

  • Can you check factual accuracy?

We will challenge anything that looks unsupported, but you are responsible for accuracy.

  • Do you use AI to draft statements?

No. Drafting your statement with a generator is both detectable and against the spirit of the task.

  • How many rounds of feedback?

Agreed in writing before we begin, so nobody relies on an open-ended promise.

  • Can you help with a postgraduate statement?

Yes, where the subject sits within current competence.

  • UK application coaching

Course and university selection, UCAS answers and interview readiness, with you as the author throughout.

  • Admissions interview preparation

Practice thinking aloud under friendly pressure, with specific feedback on reasoning, not on performance tricks.

  • English tuition

English teaching that builds close reading, structured argument and clean, deliberate prose.
